About This Community
Salmon Creek is a suburban community in Clark County, Washington at the convergence of I-5 and
I-205, just north of Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.
The Salmon Creek community covers about 6.3 square miles. Salmon Creek itself, the creek from which the area derives its name, runs through the heart of the community. Salmon used to fill the stream, and when the area consisted of mostly small farms fish were so plentiful farmers used to place them around fruit trees as fertilizer.
Situated on a beautiful 350 acre campus, with sweeping territorial and mountain views, Washington State University Vancouver (WSUV) opened their Salmon Creek campus in 1996. The school now offers lower division through graduate level courses in over 35 fields of study.
Salmon Creek is also the home to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. This full service, state of the art hospital, opened in 2005.
